    Hello;

    A new member here and just learning about IMP boats.
    I just purchased a 1978 IMP Marine X-250 and have a couple of questions. The boat has twin 350 Merc Crusier chevrolet engins. The boat is missing the out drives. Can some one tell me what out drives it should have, Apollo or Bravo?
    Also, are the out drives standard rotation, counter rotation or would one of the engines be counter rotation?

    Thank you;

    Tony

    Are the mercruiser engines still in the boat?
    Are the existing transom assemblies workable and if so, can you post a photo.
    Bravos didn't exist in 78 and they didn't have counter rotation lower unit alpha or merc1s back then.

    In 1978 they would have had "later model type 1" drives. The Alpha wasn't available until '85, the Bravo in '88. Without the upper gear housing available you'd have difficulty identifying which unit they employed, though the controls and transom plate (if still there) might offer some clues.

    Yes, the engines are still in the boat and the transom assemblies are working. I don't know how to post a photo, I have looked the site over and could not locate information on how to post photos.
