1968 evinrude 65hp out board

    fuel is coming out the lower unit when starting .where would this be coming from? all the line are good.no gas is around the top of the motor.HELP

    Is the fuel coming out the exhaust? Is the engine hard to start? (My vintage 'Rude was!) :D If so, most likely it is just unburnt fuel passing through the exhaust. Also, older outboards don't run well at idle and misfire, also passing unburnt fuel out the exhaust.
