Hi again! I ended up buying a complete set of the Run Abouts!
Great books! I'll be busy for weeks. Great Delta info.

For future reference, it's bad flag etiquette to fly two US ensigns at the same time. Damn pretty boat though, congratulations on the project.

    Delta Tempest 1963

    Hi Everyone,

We purchased a 1963 Delta Tempest in 2012. The varnish was in pretty bad shape but the hardware and 1963 Mercury 650 outboard were in good condition. During the past 4 years, we have been working on bringing the boat back to life and getting close to launching here hopefully in a week or two!

We are calling the boat Chocobob and the boat has it's own facebook page in which we keep friends and other interested people posted of the progress. The link is

Here is a picture of how we bought it:

And here are some pictures of how she looks now. More pictures to follow!

Can't wait to get it into the water and see if the boat floats! :)

lets keep this post alive. I know of a 1962 delta for sale that I have pondered and after reading and looking at these posts I may have to pull the trigger. It was on the Chicago boat show floor in '62 and has the wildest gold-ivory vinyl. The guys grandpa bought it new and it was the floor model and cost over $7000 then!. Its in good shape but he has no clue what to ask for it. I don't either.

The traditional way to get a price, is to make them provide it first, which will likely be a bit high, so offer half to maybe 60% of this price and see if you can meet in the middle.
