That's a 1951 Hackercraft in the background. What a great boat, and the owner is not a dick! Great guy!

    55 Delta maiden voyage

Well the boat is 99% complete (1 minor interior piece left) and we took it out a few weeks ago and then again on 2 days ago. First time in the water in about 30 years. It ran great and turned a lot of heads around the lake. The attached picture is of my father driving the boat - it was a great father/son moment and made possible by an old wooden boat.

    Delta wood boat

I just purchased this Delta wood boat The registration says it is a 1958 15 ft Delta. The boats has been stored since 1978 and needs a timing belt hopefully I will have it running by the weekend.

The boat looks great - is it a Delta Sexy? What motor is on that boat? Where are you running the boat?

Thanks for sending and I look forward to hearing back from you

The registration doesnt say what model and the boat only says Delta, so I am not sure what model. It still has its original Mercury Mark 55 40 hp engine. I need to do a timing belt any info out there of how to line up timing marks. Probably just on Illinois or the fox River in Illinois. Looks like a fun boat but not much room bettween you and the steering wheel while sitting in the seat and I am not a big guy. I guess its one of those boats you have sit on the side of the boat to drive.

No help on the timing belt- I had a guy out side of St. Louis (Portage Des Sioux) go through my entire engine. Did you see the brochure the guy posted with all of the different models around that year? You might be able to pin point the model.

    Enjoy - great l
