Just thought I would pass along a bit of info on upcoming classes on paddle making. The Van. wooden boat society has acquired a space to do some community programming in New Westminster, B.C. and we are starting with a few simple weekend classes. These include canoe paddle, Greenland kayak paddle and oar making as well as intro to spar making. Info on www.vancouverwoodenboat.com under the wooden boat center heading. As we move into the fall, we hope to put together more in depth boat building projects and woodworking classes for the public. Or become a member and work on boats together. We have an old Douglas row boat that needs some work, a chestnut canoe that we will be restoring and members will begin some new small boats over next winter.
