Exofish!....a WIG canoe https://www.boatdesign.net/threads/exofish-a-wig-canoe.65590/page-3
It's just a dreaming. But I thought might as well make the sketch look a bit more like a concept. The concept is a balloon can transform...
I'd like to introduce WingHopper.com to the BoatDesign community! WingHopper is a parametric wing design web app that allows anyone to create a beautiful, efficient, and accurate wing model.
Initially I developed WingHopper for my naval architecture and hydrofoil design consulting, using it as...

The Irwin 23 wing keel plywood prototye has been repositioned 8" further aft to
reduce windward helm. This has worked very well.
See my web page at

for an explanation and photos.
This view shows how the plywood wing keel prototype
stern end now matches up with the
end of the keel. If the surface is too far back, some of it can be cut away to achieve perfect balance through trial and error.
The plywood wing keel prototype has been moved back 8" to improve balance.
The 1" x 6" board fits up into
the centerboard well where a bolt through it at the centerboard pivot point and a bolt at the stern end into the
lead keel makes it firmly attached but removable for

The plywood wing keel prototype has been moved back 8" to improve the balance by moving the Center of Lateral Resistance (CLR) aft
and still have enough excessive area left so that it can be cut away as needed to
achieve as perfect a balanced
helm as possible. The 4" x 4"...
A 4" x 4" tapered timber was added to make the keel deeper
than the rudder in case of
grounding. This will add a little bit more lateral resistance.
The wing keel is being prototyped to try to improve
windward pointing ability and
not having to replace the
centerboard on my 1970 Irwin 23. The restoration project of this certified antique vessel is documented on http://www.angelfire.com/fl4/mft and a link is added to the...
The 2' 5" draft of the Irwin 23 with board up makes her a very
desireable boat for Sarasota Bay. The winged keel is proposed to improve windward pointing ability and incidentally dampen hobby horsing. The design is copied from the Hydrokeel wing keel design as found on Beneteau FAST 235's.
A preliminary sketch to increase the diversity of ideas for the wing in ground effect boat. Thread is:
