Just bought a very nice Reinell from a friend that has been sitting, covered, for about 3 years. The boat has all of 91 hours on it. One problem, the shift lever in the out drive was frozeup. I removed the vertical drive to find the shift lever caked with sand. The exhaust boot was torn. Got every thing freedup and all seems well. I plan to remove the lever, lube and replace. The book says to use only OMC grease and only their gasket sealer. They say to replace the bolt that attaches the cable tot he lever and the O ring. Does anyone have a suggestion as to an alternative sealer and grease that I could find locally? I do have to find a new gasket, exhaust boot and gear oil. What gear oil, what grease?
