This thing is gorgeous in its so different appearance to the traditional Hydro shapes. You guys can't imagine how torn I am now between the gokart and a shape like this. It will be a lot of work, but the floats could easily form the front fenders in the water gokart concept that I am working on

problems with hydros.. you need a fairly wide turning radius... might not be the best design for rivers... i guess it depends on how tight the turns are...
    i say go for it..
you can pick up a finished sst60 tunnel boat ready to run for about 8 grand .. it will run high 80's to low 90's and turn extremely well.... lots of fun for the money and get a lot of service from it... they are very dependable motors... just sayin.. have fun with your project

Now doesn't that just say a mouthful.
    Well said. Humble even.

I agree, go for a longtail!!!

TBH I've been thinking about a V-8 turbo jetski.

How about seating fore and aft?
Or is that how it's done?
I don't know squat about hydros.

Edit: Wow, those are some plans. You could likely go beyond the 18' version to accommodate a second seat.

Yeah, I think you would have to go bigger with a V8 and two seats..

You probably need to be a member of the group. From what Im gathering, he enlarged dumas 77 Atlas Van lines RC plans, and used a mercruiser outdrive, which limits his speed imo. Pretty cool nevertheless.
