Pitting corrosion steel plates

    Not sure how a wheeled surface grinder can maintain an accurate depth of cut. None of the info I read said how deep, but I'd be surprised if it is 0.010" per pass.

    And the job looks pretty awful. I would imagine there are fumes, dusts, smoke, grindings, risk of fire..

    Naserrishehri, if progress is proving too slow, use your grinder to touch up plates after being milled with a portable magnetic base milling machine. There are several makers, and they aren't big so the job will still be tedious and long, but metal removal should be orders of magnitude greater.

    There doesn't seem to be anything larger, and still usefully portable, that I have seen.
