Want to mount a rear transducer on my wooden/painted skiff. Thinking a mounting plate a good idea. So, how to mount the plate…..guess I could strip all the paint off the mounting area and epoxy the plate on (no screw holes..a good thing.) Or screw the plate on with epoxy filled holes. Or 3m double sided tape. I’m thinking making a wood/sealed plate. Any input appreciated

Well, if the paint has high bond strength, I'd not scratch it off. I'd just use 5200. The trick is to keep it on for a couple weeks with tape or something...

I'd first try double sided tape.
If it fails then epoxy over paint.

Until it is time ti refresh the paint. Then wood to wood epoxy.
