hello! Im a Naval Architect student. I have a project which is to create a fishing vessel. I badly needed a lines plan or body plan of a fishing vessel at least 30 meters long. Thank you and keep safe always!

I would suggest, while you are a student, to have it done by yourself...

Here's the ITU series. Pick your design.

The "Fishing Boats of the World no 3" from the UN FAO has numerous examples. Any library should be able to get it for you; its ISBN is 0 85238 043 7.

I must agree. There's no value to your future career if someone does your homework for you. If by chance your professors don't realize, you could easily graduate, completely incapable of actually doing a job.

Are you looking for an actual lines plan or just a rudimentary idea of how steel fishing boats are layed out?

johncarlo- A word of advice. If you are seeking help, join the local SONAME group. There are members who are more or less within your rank and most probably within your community and are willing to help. Don't go and ask the international forum thinking you can upstage your classmate by being advised by members with international rankings.

Listen to RAraujo. Do the plans yourself. If you cannot do it by manual drafting, you will fail in the next semester where they teach the basic of Autocad. Garbage in=garbage out. I gave you the hull lines but if you don't understand the meaning of all the ratios and coefficient, you will be pinning the donkey's tail.

The seniors have developed a program that gives you the ratios and coefficients based on the Froude number and type of boat following known Taylors standard, Watson and Gilfillian lines, MARIN, and other international standards. But the seniors have all agreed not to publish it as it makes the student LAZY. Naval Architecture is hard work. There is no easy way out if you want to graduate and get a job.

hello, everyone. My instructor just told us to find a body plan for a fishing vessel that will use as a reference. I will not use it as my project, just for reference for me to have a basis while doing my own fishing vessel. I do my own lines plan for a fishing vessel using maxsurf modeler. Don't worry my seniors, I'm not that like any other student who gets any work from others on the internet and will pass it to their instructor. i will post it here after doing my work and will compare my guide reference once I found one. And I hope you give me an honest review for me to improve . Thank you everyone!!

Nice lines but does the ratios and coefficients fit into the design requirement?

You are designing a "workboat", ie a fishing vessel, overdriven to reach fishing ground fast but "efficient" at speed when fully laden or to put it another way "designed displacement".

The rules guides you. See the chart of Linblad and Todd in the first chapter of Principles of Naval Architecture.

    My instructor gave me these
    Displacement : 300 tons
    Lentth : 32.5 m
    Breadth : 7.6

And I look to the internet for the cb and I found Cb = .424.

While working on my hull in maxsurf, I able to get the given displacement but with a small discrepancy which is 309 and CB is .42

I think i will try again but using the cb based on the chart of Linblad and Todd.. But having higher Cb, it will increase the displacement. We should meet the given displacement.

Thank you for the reference and for helping me, Sir.
