I like the way you are thinking, (outside the box). I have a few advanced (power - diesel-electric), vessel designs that would incorporate and/or combines the use of the Bernoulli principle, the venturi effect, WIG effect, wing shaped hulls, retractable wing shaped lifting foils, air lubrication, captured air bubble effect (CAB) as well as other SES technology. My designs are not hovercraft, and would probably be closer to a tri-toon, flying wing shaped ekranoplan. My designs are scaled for a vessel around 40' long, that would tend to be more of a large flying work boat than a plane. A vessel that will be extremely stable in displacement mode, at idle speeds, yet it would use the aerodynamic, and hydrodynamic lift of the hull, foils, air lubrication, and wig effect to get to speeds unheard of with any other types of conventional working boats.
I am still trying to figure out what would be the smallest, lightest, engine(s) i could use that would be able to generate enough power to operate four of the highest horsepower power electric thrust motors. (2 high speed motors for air props/2 high torque drive motors for water props).

not quite what you're talking about but some US alphabet soup agency experimented with foils on a grumman goose back in the day
