Yes, if you get your mechanical advantages correct.
    Hydraulic would be better though.

The dealer said they accidentally left the harness and guages there. Will send on Monday. And my mechanic neighbors have the bits and pieces for proper hydraulic streering.

    Good point.

I prefer 4 1/2 turns lock to lock.
Wheel diameter can be increased if necessary.
Expensive stuff but can be a nice set-up when tuned.
There are many out there that aren't well installed or tuned.
I've driven lots and they sucked.

IMG_20220507_115212312_HDR.jpg Progress. It was fairly heavy. Now my back is sore.

I'm in a perpetual state of learning what I didn't know that I need to learn. Then once I've learned the scope of my ignorance, I can learn the new things.

If that sounds confusing, you're right.

In the absence of proper documentation, does anyone know much about these engines? I have a predelivery and installation manual, which has an entire chapter on remote control, but I don't know if this engine is set up for that.

I don't believe they made a 250 in 2014 capable of tiller control, so it is like 99% likely remote ready.

But what steering u gonna run?

So, you mean remote as in by wire? Not likely in 2014.

I'm suprised there was ever a tiller controlled 250. That seems dangerous.

The standard units from SeaStar all seem to be 5 turns, lock to lock. As pointed out, not inexpensive. In fact, about $2000.

I could not put the images on the PM. This is an alternative to coming in from the side but I had to bring the steering hoses in from the gunwale due the configuration of the boat routing 1.jpg routing 2.jpg
