    Dear all,

I have been playing around with Freeship and everything seems to work as it should except for exporting Iges files. The exported iges file does not open properly in either Solidworks or FreeCad, only blank without any warnings. Problem is not my hull as I have tried with the default hull and a basic cylinder but without improvement. All other export methods seem to work ok. Iges would be the most convenient for me though. I opened the iges file with winedit, but I cannot tell if there is something wrong. I tried exporting to mesh and using FreeCad command "create shape from mesh" but it never finished.

Tried searching here, freeship manual and google but did not find a solution. I am using the newest version downloaded from SourceForge (2.6 I believe).

Has anybody experienced similar issues and was a solution ever found?

    Thanks

    Hi Tops,

Thank you very much for your reply. I was not aware that Freeship is developing in GIT nowadays, that is great news. I will give the git release a go on monday to see if that solves the issue. Interesting to see also if my file created with the earlier version of freeship opens correctly in the new one.

FreeShip creates an IGES file with the wrong header, with gCAD3D you can open the FreeShip IGES files and save them from gCAD3D in a correct format.

Hi, I tried opening the iges model in gCAD3D but I get an error message and it opens blank. Also I downloaded the 5.0 version of freeship from github but it crashes when trying to open the model I made in the sourceforge version. I have included the iges file for your reference.

Thanks Pafurijaz, got it opened now in the gCAD3D after I realized that the error was related to file path.

The test IGES file worked for me straight into FreeCAD. Compressed copy of FreeCAD data attached in the zip file.
My programs would be from the latest stable releases a couple months ago. I do not compile or fork or do any of that fancy computer stuff.
