CAD software for MAC is scarce, if you are serious about using your computer as a boat design tool consider dual booting into Windows.

There are for sure way more CAD programs for Windows, but that does not mean that there is a shortage of programs for the Mac. Way more than suggested by the comments here, usually written by Windows users with very limited or no knowledge of the Mac scene. Been doing professional boat design and 3D CAD work on the Mac since 1987. The example was 100% designed on the Mac in a professional boat design program for the Mac (and Windows).

Nice, i've been professionally using CAD software for about the same period. One of the first personal computers on which i learned how make use of one was the https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Macintosh_128K The company i work for currently uses about 60% windows, for engineering and 40% apple computers, for administration and graphics design. I'm comfortable in all three of these disciplines.

As an engineer i'm always looking for the best tool for my job. When it comes to boat design those tools, although perhaps unfortunately, are found on Windows.
