I'm building a center console boat with 2 outboards motor.

I'm tinking about battery wiring diagram. My outboards are 85 HP 2 strokes Yamaha. I want to use a 1000 Watts inverter and electronics (Camcorder, computer, GPS) on boat for several hours.

How many batteries I need ? (cranking, deep cycle)
Does I need a cranking battery or I can use deep cycle batterie for motor ?
Can I put the two motor on the same big battery ?

    Do you have suggestions ?

    Thanks

The 1000W inverter will use about 10AH . For 10 hours of use you will need a battery or set of batteries that rate 100 AH. Deep cycle are better for this. You can use a battery isolator between the deep cycle house batteries and the starting one.

for 2 dynamo's use 2 separate batery's, think you can use a cross switch for starting on deep cycle batts

    Thanks for info

Yipster: What do you mean by cross switch ? It is A - B - Both - off switch ?

About isolator, I find this link http://www.noco.biz/InstallGuidesPDFFiles/Igm-70%20outboard%20marine.pdf

It is a very interresting link. I think about A diagram for one engine and regular mount for other one. The E diagram is better but more costly. Maybe I can add a swith to connect both cranking batteries in case of failure of one battery.

good diagrams but apart from the master A - B - Both - off switch you can have a momentairy toggle switch on the dash witch parallels the battery's to assist in starting (from deep cycle?) dont even know if dynamo's this way run over the multi phase charger, am buying (deep cycle?) start battery's tommorow, hope the marina store knows. here's some more on battery's
