I never assume you are trying to be anything other than a helpful friend, Fallguy.

I'll use a tiny amount of thickened epoxy in those shallow angles, and glass over all. Like this location.

You can get away with 6 oz tapes there and a neat coat or two. Easier than biax as pictured. Probably less epoxy as well.

    Har de har har.

    No. Not a rib eye.

Glassed that area today. Painfully slow. It's hot enough that my slow 40 minutes epoxy was cooking off in 10 minutes. Tiny batches. Much wasted epoxy.

Hope I’m reading this right, you can carry a load of approximately 2800 kg and only increase your draught by 150 mm( 6”).Wow what a load DC.
Where can I google to find the best explanation of this table ? Cheers from OZ.

One trick is to put the resin and hardener in the cooler with the drinks after leaving them in the fridge overnight.
It helps but can be more work to mix.
Or at least put the resin in the cooler.

    That's correct.
The difference in displacement at 350mm draft and at 200mm draft, is roughly 2800kg.

    Impressive, no?

Baeckmo just explained why the sleds don't pound. Turns out peak impact force is dependent on speed of sound in water. 1200m/s. Or only 35m/s if full of bubbles. I had no idea. Just anecdotes.

I'd love to see CFD analysis of the seas sled form at speed. Owners report no planing hump to speak of. George Crouch empirically gave the form the highest crouch constant of anything he tested, and he tested them extensively. I like the idea of being the fastest thing on water at any given power to weight ratio, but I'd also like to understand why.

Not that I plan to go fast. This is a bus, not a sports car. Faster than the other buses?

There should be no wasted epoxy if you are doing things right, but 40 minute epoxy is too fast for most amateur work. Oh, someone will argue, but 40 minutes turns to 20 in the heat.

None of your containers can be smaller than full gallon. They can never be set in the sun or be a dark color.

A fan running across the batch may also buy you another minute or two.

And a second person can help as well.

Another strategy still is rolling as you go.

My epoxy is costing like $1/oz, waste rates wet bagging are like 25% and so have wasted LOTs. Anyhow, it pains me to hear you losing some.

A lot of my waste is because in the heat, the viscosity is too low. So instead of saturating glass, it flows away like water. I'm certainly going to chill the next production batches. Let the hot environment bring it up to curing temp once it's placed.

On a side note, I had 32000 views in April. Just passed 42000 views today. I must be getting more interesting.
