2021 Is Shaping Up To Be The Year Of The UFO https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.forbes.com/sites/danidiplacido/2021/03/22/2021-is-shaping-up-to-be-the-year-of-the-ufo/amp/
Look at that, legislation that opens up government activity instead of occluding it.

According to numerous sources from a Google search on "increase ufo sightings" and "government admits to aliens" (you can find anything on the Internet) there has been an uptick in sightings in recent years, but particularly during the pandemic, of UFO sightings. This is confirmed by the Pentagon, according to numerous mainstream news sources.

Maybe the timing isn't coincidence. We are either being terraformed out of our home planet or we are lucky they came along when they did and can help us get to another planet just when we've lost this one.

I just hope we don't run out of popcorn before the show is over.

Will you be here in 50 years? It's highly unlikely that I will be. But someone will be. It would be nice if their world was a better place than our world.

Top Maritime Trends of 2020: Decarbonization is Blowing in the Wind
    • Since 2013, any new ship over 400GRT has been obliged to comply with an Energy Efficiency Design Index (EEDI)
    • About 22% of the fleet is EEDI-compliant, which mean they have a 15-25% reduced fuel consumption compared to older ships
    • In 2023 they will enter an accelerated phase propelled by the recently released IMO GHG reduction strategy
    • Strategies to achieve these goals include: speed reduction; hull appendages optimization; improved engine tuning; and route optimization
    • These offer a range of 3-10% in fuel consumption reduction, far less that the 20% required for the first 2023 IMO GHG phase
    • More expensive options include fuels with lower carbon footprint, such as LNG, LPG, Methanol, ammonia, hydrogen
    • Wind-assist ship propulsion (WASP) technologies is an option, including sails, suction wings, rotors, and kites

Will I live fifty more years? I intend to try another two hundred and I'm determined to die trying. I believe there is a better world after this, but admittance is restricted. I hope and have faith my application is accepted.

Surigae explodes into strongest super typhoon on record before May 1, with 190 mph winds
    • As of Saturday, it is the strongest super typhoon ever observed in the western Pacific during the month of April and earliest in the calendar year.
    • In 36 hours, the storm’s peak wind increased from 90 mph to 190 mph, an astonishing rate of intensification.
    • First Northern Hemisphere tropical cyclone in the official record to reach sub-900 millibar intensity [888] prior to May 1.

The new wave of e-boats taking to the seas
    • If shipping were a country, it would be the sixth largest emitter of CO2 after China, the USA, India, Russia and Japan
    • International shipping will not be electrified any time soon, as the energy density of batteries simply cannot facilitate it.
    • However, speed boats, ferries and even small container ships are exploring becoming e-boats
    • Candela is making battery-powered hydrofoil speed boats with cruising speed of 20 knots and 50 nautical mile range
    • Voyager Marine has converted a diesel-powered 12-passenger ferry into an electric vessel cruising at five knots for four hours
    • They are also planning to build a 150-passenger electric catamaran in 2022
    • Yara Birkeland is the world’s first battery-powered autonomous vessel, a 120 TEU container ship designed to load up, navigate its course, then unload its cargo with virtually no human input, scheduled to begin operations later this year

This is very cool and I hope it eventually succeed. By "later this year" you mean 2020. As of now, they are still working out the kinks.

Energy Unleashed by Volcanic Eruptions Deep in Our Oceans Could Power All of the United States https://www.google.com/amp/s/scitechdaily.com/energy-unleashed-by-volcanic-eruptions-deep-in-our-oceans-could-power-all-of-the-united-states/amp/
"data gathered by remotely operated vehicles deep in the North East Pacific and analyzed by scientists at the University of Leeds, has revealed a link between the way ash is dispersed during submarine eruptions and the creation of large and powerful columns of heated water rising from the ocean floor, known as megaplumes."

"The size of megaplumes is immense, with the volumes of water equivalent to forty million Olympic-sized swimming pools."

As climate change thaws mountain tops, risks of rockfalls surge
    • As climate change warms high-altitude mountain regions, boulders and rocks long frozen into place are being loosed and falling
    • It's getting more dangerous, especially if you have massive investments in hazard-prone areas
    • Permafrost covers only about 4% of Switzerland's area, which limits the country's rockfall exposure
    • Alaska has nearly 85% coverage of permafrost, so the danger may be higher.
    • One area of Alaska's Saint Elias Mountains that typically sees six rock avalanches per year experienced an average of 10 per year during the unseasonably warm years of 2013-2016
    • The collapse of a mountain face at Taan Fjord in 2015 dumped a mass of rock into the water, creating a 633-foot tsunami in the Gulf of Alaska's Icy Bay

Climate change, pollution impacts hurricane formation in the Atlantic, NOAA study says
    • A decrease in aerosol pollution over the last 40 years, along with a couple of volcanic eruptions, played the largest role in the increase in hurricanes
    • Climate change also played a role, although it was “outperformed” in the Atlantic basin specifically by aerosols and volcanoes
    • Some spots, like the Atlantic basin, saw a “substantial increase” in storms, but other spots, like the southern Indian Ocean, saw far fewerClouds of air pollution shade ocean waters and keep temperatures down, making it harder for hurricanes to strengthen
    • As the air above the oceans warms, it actually makes the atmosphere more stable and complicates storm formation
    • As the planet continues to heat up it could eventually lead to fewer hurricanes overall. But the ones that do form are more likely to be powerful Category 3, 4 and 5 hurricanes
