    When you would register through http://dsyhs.tudelft.nl/dsyhs.php you would also gain access to a "library" section.
    In this library section the research group at TU Delft states that it will make all papers published on the Delft Systematic Yacht Hull Series since 1974 available on this website at some point in time.
    At the moment you will already be able to download “An Approximation Method for the Added Resistance in Waves of a Sailing Yacht” (MDY06 Madrid march 2006) by Keuning, Vermeulen & Ten Have, plus an Excel file with all the parameter values. No OCR involved here. :)

    RAW data and a description of the possibilities of the online DSYHS database

    I have the files available, so I checked the conditions under which they may be shared.
    The fact that it would become available was previously announced, both through the applicable Dutch channels and on the Chesapeake Sailing Yacht Symposium website:

    It seems I am posting in this thread 12 years later the last answer. Still, as I am starting to add to the software the calculation of the added resistance of sailing yachts, and I wondered whether there are more recent works in this area following the paper published by Keuning, Vermeulen, ten Haven, in 2006.

    Any idea?

    It is refreshing to see how even after 7 years, you are still taking care of this thread.
    I will look at Chalmers directory, and I will post here if I found something interesting.
    As said, I am working now on a calculation template for added resistance of sailing yachts. I have started modeling the sailing yacht transfer functions (response amplitude operator), and I will soon be modeling the sea state through the energy spectral density. I will make the template available at Navalapp's website at:

    By the way, going through the excel file "2006 - MDY - Added Resistance in Waves", I came across the following:

    => Coefficients for kyy = 0.25L, Fn = 0.25, a = 120 are exactly the same to that of Coefficients for kyy = 0.25L, Fn = 0.25, a = 180 (same kyy and Fn but different angle).

    This must be an error: while those coeffs for a = 180 seems to be correct, those of a = 120 are most probably wrong.

    Had anybody spot this point before? Are the correct coeffs for a = 120 available somewhere?

    I wanted to post an update regarding the error in the RAO coefficients provided in the excel file (2006 - MDY - Added Resistance in Waves - CoefficientsRAW.xls) that can be obtained from the online DSYHS Database (DSYHS Database http://dsyhs.tudelft.nl/dsyhs.php).

    As mentioned above, I contacted the DSYHS Database administrator and I have received the following answer: "unfortunately the men who made the polynomials and coefficients do not work at the university anymore. I will do my very best to find them and to ask whether they have the original list of coefficients for me."

    Waiting for more information to come, has anybody used these coefficients to carry out calculations in the past or may have the original ones or access to them?

    I just wanted to post some updates.

    Besides the error where the coefficients kyy = 0.25L, Fn = 0.25, a = 120 are exactly the same to that for kyy = 0.25L, Fn = 0.25, a = 180, there is yet a second error: coefficients for kyy = 0.25 L, Fn = 0.30, a = 100 are equal to coefficients for kyy = 0.25 L, Fn = 0.35, a = 100.

    I have made some visual analysis of the results, and what I found is that:
    - Coefficients kyy = 0.25 L, Fn = 0.25, a = 180 and coefficients kyy = 0.25 L, Fn = 0.30, a = 100 seems to be right, while
    - Coefficients kyy = 0.25 L, Fn = 0.25, a = 120 and coefficients kyy = 0.25 L, Fn = 0.35, a = 100 are definitely wrong

    I attach a pdf document with the results that show what I was pointing above.

    I have also received another email from tudfelft. They found the person that worked on the paper (they didn’t mention the name) but unfortunately, this person sent back a file with the coefficients which contains the same errors. They also confirmed that the code that was used for calculating the coeffs is not available anymore but they will still try to find the correct coefficients.

    While waiting for the right coefficients to be found, what I am planning to do is to make:
    - the results for kyy = 0.25 L, Fn = 0.25, a = 120 a function of those for a = 100 and a = 140, and
    - the results for kyy = 0.25 L, Fn = 0.35, a = 100 a function of those for Fn = 0.30 and Fn = 0.40

    The calculation template for Added Resistance in Waves (RAW) of a sailing yacht is now available.

    The calculation requires Lwl, Tc, Bwl, Vc, Cp, the yacht's radius of gyration (Kyy), as well as the significant wave height (H1/3) and the modal period of the sea spectrum (To). The sea state is modeled by either the Bretschneider (open sea) or JONSWAP (limited fetch) spectra, considering the yacht is sailing in deep water. A custom value of the water density (default is 1026 kg/m3) can also be provided.

    The results are calculated for all combinations of:
    - Froude numbers 0.20, 0.25, 0.30, 0.35, 0.40 and 0.45
    - Angle of wave incidence 100, 120, 140, 160, and 180 degrees
    - Radii of gyration 0.20, 0.25, 0.30 times Lwl, and the specific radius of gyration provided
    - Wavelength/ship length ratio starting at 0.5, 0.6 …….till 4.0
