As I look at it, I like it more and more.

Maybe so - I guess it might require a bit of figuring as far as shaft angle goes - off the top of my head and pausing briefly from fairing a hull before priming it I can't guarantee I'm thinking all that clearly, but you'd be moving props aft, and up, so an inboard could potentially be converted but I would be some level of effort.

Maybe the best candidate would be a hull that had been offered as inboard or outboard in a couple of lengths, and getting the shorter outboard version with wrecked motors. A guy could reference the IB version for engine placement details, but extend the hull a bit along lines with known performance, and build the tunnels into the extension?

One day I might build my final boat and make it a 37-40' sportfish with a pair of diesels, and I'd look seriously at the concept. It's quirky but I like the idea of getting a lot of the SP drive benefits, without a lot of the drawbacks.
