Can you remove wooden bulkheads in a fibreglass boat?

Thanks for the link you included. Yes we have done some research as we have owned a property in France since 2010 even though we aren't resident. Hubby is British/Australian so it was easier prior to Brexit but now we will likely apply for the long term tourist visa each year.

 

Even inland waterways can get pretty turbulent when rivers are in flood - I just saw this thread on the YBW Forum re how 21 hire boats on the Lot river in France were washed away.

Which relates to my suggestion that if the bulkhead is removed,it would be a good thing to glass in some foam say 40mm square(with rounded corners and glass over it and then add further longitudinals of similar size to reach the next bulkhead or substantial item.That way you would reduce the area of unsupported panel.The boat may not bounce as well,but nor will it deflect as much.
