    Hi guys,
I've done a bit of round the boys racing as a general string puller and rail meat but on Multi's crew is minimal and so a certain amount of multi-skilling is required.
Some boats I've sailed on don't even have a compass or a wind vane some have systems on iPads that have tacking angles vmg, the works but the operation is over my head.
So..... I think I need a book that can teach me compass and basic navigation round the marks starting with using the compass, angles, start lines and stuff like that and then when I have the basics down pat I could buy a nav system and laptop.
It could be that I get my own boat in about 5 years and do some cruising up the coast so I need to tool up ! Around the buoys is where I'm at now.
    I'm in Fremantle Western Australia.
So.... any recommendations on books/courses that could take me from the very basics of compass and chart to racing and more ?
    Thanks for your time.

P.S None of the local clubs do any sort of navigation/tactical training.
