restoration project

Im an new member to this community as I did a search on "fiberglass boat restoration" this site site popped up and I decided to take a look!
I purchased an 20 foot Grady White last year and have started to restore her back to some of it's former glory. I restored all the teak last summer and this spring I plan to grind down all the gunwales and reinforce and re gel coat as they are badly cracked with many small spider webs. I had a boat builder look at it and he quoted me $8000 to repair which isn't in the budget, so I have some learning to do. Trouble is I've never worked with fiberglass or gel coat before. Ideally, I'd love to pay someone to oversee the project for me. Tell me what's next and what needs more attention, and haven't a clue on how to get started.
So perhaps magically thinking, hoping this might be a good place to start. Any ideas I'd be most appreciative to hear from you.

Lots of pictures. The more the merrier and better advise can be given (focused on your particular needs)

Gel coat can be tricky. Especially color matching.
Painting usually gives more predictable results for the newbies
