lets just hope that everything is alright with him and the boat.

re omia - all of the 3 older boats of le cam, seguin and dutreux are doing a marvelous race!
the conditions so far did not favour the foilers very much as it seems.
lets see how it develops in the pacific.

he still impresses me and he caught time for oceans and la fabrique when they all were in the same system but left them behind!
4 days ago on the 7.12. they all together with la mie caline were in the same spot south of the cape of good hope - they all are as far as 700 nm in his wake by now.
i hope he catches up on the leading group although i doubt it since they are all in the same weather system by now with him at the far back.

He was able to make an end run on a pressure system and ride it's front end until it passed to the south. The others considered this but decided they weren't quite fast enough to avoid getting caught by the weather. Ten miles out of position turned into 500 mile loss.

Water ingress on board Linkedout, of which cause is under investigation :
News - LinkedOut Taking Water Into Bow Compartment - Vendée Globe - En (vendeeglobe.org)
Apivia / Charlie Dalin did a successfull rebuild of the lower support of the port foil , of which resistance should be tested later on as she is now back in the race at full speed on its starboard foil, 160 NM behind the fast consistent leader Yannick Bestaven on Maitre Coq.

Some more repair videos. Those skippers need to get some real tools. Seriously, it looks like their kids bought their tools at Harbor Freight for their birthday. GET SOME TOOLS, PEOPLE.
