HDPE bottom plate instead of FG / Anti-fouling paint?

    I was thinking screws, making sure not to make any one piece too large due to the thermal expansion problem.

    There are plenty of painted plywood skiffs in the area to know that I don't *need* epoxy. Probably a good idea though.

    Plating the sides could work well, but it complicates the thermal expansion issue.
