The Marketplace Forums can be useful for members who know one another well from forum discussions and offline communications and wish to post boatbuilding tools, drafting tools, molds and tooling, and other professional equipment for sale or trade. However, caution and good judgement should always be used. Especially when considering any business with anyone not already well known to you and trusted, due diligence must be used to confirm details and identity and be sure the transaction is safe before any money or property changes hands. Always use good judgement and perform due dilligence and follow these guidelines.

I'm not a boat builder (other passions keep me busy enough!). I inherited this rigger's vise or splicing clamp from my uncle, and would like to see it happily occupied with someone who can use it. Rigger clamp front.jpg Rigger clamp back.jpg

As I understand it, these are used for work like holding loops/eyes in the end of cables while clamping or splicing them.

It's 9-1/2" long at the base and 7-1/2" high; around six pounds in weight. It's made from brass (or perhaps bronze; not sure how to know which), with the screws and the little retaining screws that keep the clamping screws in place from steel. No maker's name visible. From what I found online, a similar clamp/vise in aluminum is $260; I'm asking $80 or best reasonable offer plus postage. Cost of postage will depend on how far away from me you live, so please include your ZIP code in your message expressing interest.

Is this vise still available? I'm based in the UK.
    Thanks
