Installing Longitudinal Stiffeners on Sailboat

I believe you're right about the hull layup. The hull is crazy to thick in areas, at the 4 main bulkheads it's about 3/8 taping to the waterline about 1/2. at the area of the bulkheads I want to move back, either side of the engine it varies from 3/8 to 5/8. The2 surveyors I had look at my boat the one prior to my purchase if you can call it that considering what I paid for it. lol... The second surveyor I hired because of the suggestion an individual to have him look at my boat after the gutting.

Both said pretty much the same thing the hull is sound 3 rather small wet core areas. Other than the ugly lichen and what not I was assured it was in good shape for an overhaul. Really no major issues. This guy was a wealth of information about the Alberg and such as he had an Alberg 30 as well. which I did not know at the time.
