Excited to see this come up ......I too have needed up with a Beismeyer 4 Point Hydro and getting ready to start the process of restoring/upgrading.....doing this thing!

Very limited information out there, and believe me I have tried a lot of avenues. Was really excited to see you post your project and in fact the profile shot is now my background screenshot!

Would like share e-mail addresses to expedite communications and share data and images if you are up for that?

I've already got a number of ? for you....and figure you'll have many for me as well, so below is my e-mail.........hoping to hear from you soon and get a conversation started.

    Thank you. rj smith rj@carwrapcity.com

Does it run on the tip of the sponsons and the two corners of the stern?

You call it a four point Hydro, that is why I was asking.

Called a 4 Point because it runs on front 2 sponsons and on rear of hull on each side of the tunnel .........effectively on 4 points of the hull.

Three point hydros have three points touching the water when at speed, the sponsons on either side and the propeller.
Four point hydros have four points touching the water as described above.

So, are the early biesemeyers considered a drag boat?

Could be, if configured and used that way.

Logic tells me that these would not make good drag boats due to how heavy they are and the transom design. Although I think it could be fast and stable, I don't think it's drag boat caliber
