You just don't know how it would behave, but she does appear plenty wet, by the sheets of water shedding off the bow.

Hell. And in the current market, I'll be happy to get a pair of good used 150's.

How about for powering through rough inlet waters. I have read commentary that you need to get it up on plane to get through without being pummeled to death. And that takes some power.

This side of the pond that many engines means you're probably a drug or people smuggler.

Maybe someday you will visit Florida and take a boat like this out.

This first boat is what happens when you dont apply or have enough power, the boat slams high up and down, which is why boats may have so many motors.

Power over the troughs and let the hull skip along the wave peaks, that takes a lot of power and boat length. Like skipping a stone on the water. See otherwise your boat is going to fall into every wave trough and rocking up and down and throw everything all over including people who can get hurt.

Marketing. Make a video of a particularly uncomfortable but atypical situation, convince folks with more money than brains that you have the solution.

Lots of boats in these videos have from 2 to 4 out-drives. I cant see more than 4 being a good idea!
The larger and longer the boat, the more you see using 4 drives.
People want to go fast and dont want to be underpowered in any sea state at any time I suppose.
Watching these videos makes me want to get out on the water.
I can feel every move of these boats in my mind watching them power through the waves.

we must do something wrong in australia most boats have 2 outboards at the maximum. normally 1 engine and we have a lot harder crossings than haulover inlet.

I've been out in the North Atlantic in a 50 hp Diesel inboard Lobster boat several times, waves like that are small...

coming back after overnighting at the Eastern Shore, (near the cement ships from WWI) the lower Chesapeake Bay had some really bad tight wave period steep waves, must have been some far off storm? So for about half the trip back we got pummeled with the bow slamming , going up and down and up and down. Waves looked abut 5 feet in height and really tight period, actually I think it was dangerous crossing. Seen such waves also on the York River where it enters the bay. About the safest place on the boat was midship, right at the helm station. This is also an old 1970 wooden EggHarbor 37 foot sedan cruiser I rebuilt. So we held together ok.
