how come no multihull toy RC sail boats?

No good for Squiddly if he wants to avoid paddling.

Some time ago, (Like 45 years!) I used to sail motor model ships without radio control in our town lake (aka large duck pond) - but I had a tiny dinghy I used to sail them from.

 

When I was young, I built an RC tank. It looked like a toy, floating over the grass. I finally had to load it down with lead ballast inside so that it would look "heavy".

 

I guess the wave piercing reverse bow not such a great idea on micro-boat that will be aggressively sailed.

 

I think it's just a practicality thing, A mini40 is a pretty big boat. You really need to go for a 2 metre multihull to get the look of the big boats stability wise is my observation. You can see a few videos of the 2 metres in action on Youtube. The smaller RC multihulls are fun and fast though.

We made some shark catamaran scale rc boats a number of years back. Really took off when we put battens in the main sail. Could have used larger than scale rudders, but a lot of fun!
