Special tooling conception to remove an aluminium mandrel, seeking advices & ideas

    Two piece mold with internal vacuum bag.
    You can arrange to have one half of the laminate stand proud of the mold flange and lap inside the other half so that no secondary bonds are necessary.
    This is how double tapered spinnaker poles and odd shape rudder shafts are made.

    Thank you Mr Clark,

    That is the process used by Heol'Composites for its spinnaker poles and for the GroupamaC main tube.
    But these carbon moulds are quite expensive to build only one piece.
    That is why I am looking for alternative approach, also I feel more comfortable wrapping UD around a mandrel.
