Shoaib_jaff, You might think about being a little more nice when you request information. I understand you probably don't speak english very well, but some people might take offense to how you word questions. :)
As for the trawler, we need information too. It's not too hard to find HELP around here. If this is for school though, don't expect people on this fourm do do the work for you. If you can provide us with some particulars, maby we can get the ball rolling!

    SailDesign Old Phart! Stay upwind..

    shoaib_jaff,
What Figgy is trying hard to say nicely is that we need more inforamtion about what you want, and why.
What size stern trawler? Where will it be used? Single or twin engines?
School project? If so, is it for a marine design course or a different subject that mases it hard for you to find the right information yourself?
Steve "ready to help, but waiting for info..."

    SeaSpark -

    Good links

    Great information Guillermo.

Figgy, think Shoaib Jaff was very polite not many threads start with "Sir,".
"i am looking for" sounds better then "i want" even i, as a non native english writer i must agree, still think Shoaib did his best.

I can scan some for you at my office and post them here, but I need to know size or any other desing basic determining factors?

You could also buy some books on the matter, for example:

Figgy, your first response might have been a little more “nice” if you had to compose it in another language!

I applaud shaoib_jaff for having the cajones to post his query from India on an English forum. Best of luck to you, shaoib_jaff. I wish I had an answer to your questions.

    guillermo,
i appreciate your concern for me, i have decided to design a freezer trawler of about 45-50 m in length.
do you recommend a freezer trawler for indian ocean,
secondly, what type of propulsion would be preferable single/twin screw

A 45-50 m stern trawler most probably should be a freezer, as she is not a day or short trips boat. But size is not the departure point. What you do need to know first is which species are you planning to fish and then the volume of hold required, the duration of fishing labours to fill it (so how many days in the fishing grounds) and duration of voyage to those fishing grounds. Also the depth and kind of the trawling and if there is going to be some processing aboard other than freezing. From all that you work out crew, vessel size, power and fuel needed. And the designing spiral begins...

I do not know twin screwed trawlers....Well, yes, I saw one built in a Galician boatyard for the Mediterranean! That's the only one.

To have an idea about vessels the size and function you need, you should do some google searching. Just type : Stern Trawler Sale, or the like.

    guillermo,
generally, what is the hold capacity for a freezer?
if duration of voyage is 1 day
    depth 3800 m
    stern trawling

    shoaif_jaff,
I don't want to be rude, but you should do some homework first, before asking again.
    Cheers
