Removing tunnel hull from aluminum job boat

    How much do you think it would cost to take a boat that has a tunnel reverted back to flat?
    It’s a 1648 welded aluminum boat. A guy is putting a surface drive on it and their is no use and actually it hurts performance from what I understand and wants me to cap of the tunnel and I’m not sure what to charge. I don’t have any experience with surface drives only regular outboards.

    It’s just a matter of welding a plate over a void, and cutting off projection, pretty straightforward, I’d say.
    You’re a pro welder, right?
    No different than any other welding job, bidding it is time, materials, profit.

    Yes sir kapnD been welding full time since I was 16 and it was aluminum I started with. It actually took me about 8 hrs but that includes flipping the boat which took a good bit of time bc I have no forklift or crane and I was by myself. Wasn’t too bad though.
