Hi again! I ended up buying a complete set of the Run Abouts!
Great books! I'll be busy for weeks. Great Delta info.

For future reference, it's bad flag etiquette to fly two US ensigns at the same time. Damn pretty boat though, congratulations on the project.

    Delta Tempest 1963

    Hi Everyone,

We purchased a 1963 Delta Tempest in 2012. The varnish was in pretty bad shape but the hardware and 1963 Mercury 650 outboard were in good condition. During the past 4 years, we have been working on bringing the boat back to life and getting close to launching here hopefully in a week or two!

We are calling the boat Chocobob and the boat has it's own facebook page in which we keep friends and other interested people posted of the progress. The link is

    https://www.facebook.com/people/Choco-Bob/100007280056486

Here is a picture of how we bought it:

And here are some pictures of how she looks now. More pictures to follow!

Can't wait to get it into the water and see if the boat floats! :)

lets keep this post alive. I know of a 1962 delta for sale that I have pondered and after reading and looking at these posts I may have to pull the trigger. It was on the Chicago boat show floor in '62 and has the wildest gold-ivory vinyl. The guys grandpa bought it new and it was the floor model and cost over $7000 then!. Its in good shape but he has no clue what to ask for it. I don't either.

The traditional way to get a price, is to make them provide it first, which will likely be a bit high, so offer half to maybe 60% of this price and see if you can meet in the middle.

I'm new to this forum as well as wooden boats. I have been helping a senior neighbor clean up his acreage of boats. At one point he had 26 boats.... Quite a few were beyond help and they were stripped and hauled to a landfill. I have kept a few that I just couldn't bring myself to dispose of. This is one of them. From what I can tell it is a 1963 Delta Holiday. I say 1963 because that is the year of the Evinrude Starflite 100 that it came with. I have been surfing the net looking for pictures of Holiday's that have lap wood, but have not seen one like this before. The horns, spot light, running lights are all there. Not sure what is missing from the dash in front of the steering wheel. There is a hole there and I have seen a chrome object in some other pictures. The boat has a fold up rear seat with a tool compartment below it. At this point I'm going to try and get the Starflite running before I sink too much labor into the boat itself. Thoughts on how to proceed, if at all?

    Hi
Happy to find this old thread.
I think I have a Delta as well. The registration says it is a 1955. Outboard is a Johnson Seahorse, 35 HP, 1955 or 1957. It's in pretty good condition and the engine runs well.
Can't find much info on these boats other than here.
Can anyone confirm that this is a Delta based on the pictures here.
    Thanks
