RIB Boat

I have a RIB boat and i want to modify the hull with out Tube . The boat was originally designed for RIB .Please advice

 

Not recommended. RIBs rely on the tube buoyancy to prevent excessive heel and to stay afloat when swamped.

So, what is the object of the exercise ? Why are you getting rid of the tubes, and what are you looking to gain ?

 

Owner needs to modify the boat with out using the tube .

 

To make it a fishing boat rather than a dive boat ? Of course it can be done, but it is a project that would require a lot of work, both in the design and execution. If it is just a case of wanting to be rid of tubes that might deflate with fishing equipment and gaffs and what-not, you might possibly substitute a "tube" made out of something like polyethylene flexible foam, that won't absorb water.

As you proposed in case of wanting to be rid of tubes , i have made same diameter of tube with fiber ( 2 x 450 CSM) to fill with polyethylene foam . understand weight will be increased (Excluding Existing tube weight ) by approx 250 Kg because of Fiber tube filled with Polyethylene foam.I guess there will not be any effect on stability .Full tonnage of boat is 3.4 Ton. I have attached the picture of Modification to be attended and request expect your advise.

 

Were the air tubes beyond repair ? I can't see any reason to ne thinking along these lines, otherwise.

 

Thank you for your reply. Air tube is beyond repair. You can see in the picture a part of Fiber tube (02 feet same diameter of Air tube ) fitted at the Port side of the Boat temporarily for your reference.

 

Fabricating fibreglass tubing to replicate the airtubes, is a very difficult exercise. It is a compound curvature that can't be made from sheet material.

This thread is rather confusing.
You want to get rid of the air tubes and replace them with ridgid, solid tubes...?
So, what is the question?
It seems pretty straightforward to me.
Why solid vs inflatable tubes?
Is the customer tired of inflating them every time they want to go out
or were the old tubes shot, no good, destroyed?

 

There is a paucity of information, that's for sure, though he did say the tubes are shot. It would be a difficult task to replicate these tubes in glass, and whilst possible, probably not economically sound.

 

Existing tube is beyond repair and owner of boat does not like inflatable tube due to frequent repairs /replacement. As alternative option foam filled fiber tube will be introduced. Forwarded for information
