Hogfish Maximus - 44ish sailing sharpie?

Congrats! Looks like you have come up with the ideal cruising sailboat, or at least close to it. I guess the flat bottom is not that much of a performance handicap after all.

A few months ago I saw Chris had a similar sized boat design with 90degree square bottom chines ala Bolger box, wonder if that is it

 

That looks like a bit simplistic view to me, as the first one linked in post #333 hasn't 90º square bottom to hull side angles, and both have too much differences from any Bolger to sum up here for me, and yes there are some similarities with some of Bolger's designs, which list would be shorter to sum up I believe, but better everyone studies both linked designs for themselves first I think...

 

Now I recall yes, it was 90 degree square chines but beam was 8' instead of 10' shown above, length was maybe 32'

 

This is from JRA, I would like to see other drawings as well but would need to join

 

That looks to be the second design linked in post #333, there are in total 16 drawings of that design posted by Chris on the there linked page, complete plans of that one cost as for now US $ 450.

P.S. - Saw the posted drawing in the above post #338 is sheet #3 (5th pic in the blog post) of the second design as linked in post #333.

Chris' Hogfish Design blog seems to be doing well, as I get more ads showing up, hope this brings him some revenues in return for the efforts of sharing his work with the world, anyways, thanks to Chris for his efforts of sharing, hope he sells some plans too, as I would like to see the boats . .

Hi, Hogfish Maximus and I are now anchored in Radio Bay Hilo Hawaii. We will be starting to make our way up to Oahu and then to Kauai to use as the staging point on our last leg to BC Canada. The sail up from Easter Island was a slow one but pleasant. From the Marquesas we had 60 hours of calm in the dulldrums and 8 days of 24-34 knts close hauled in 8-12 seas. Took 20 days.
I will be putting the HFM up for sale when I get to BC as my wife and I are going to be building a new home base in BC.
I have several small skiffs to build this winter to use for photos for a book I’am writing on skiff building.
We have our Bahamas home base up for sale. Grandkid to be born in the next few hours.
The HFM has been a great boat for us but when not using she needs to go places. Hence we have decided to sell while she is in her prime and ready to. When I reach BC sailing this last leg singlehanded we will have logged just about 38,000 miles together.

I have several box boat and my slightly modified flat bottom Junk rigged boats being built now. The truth is I get way more attention in my small design world from my sailboats, but no one in this world has enough $ and energy to build. With my fly Fishing designs I have 40 boats being built now. Over $60,000,000,000.00 built of my powerboat designs to date.Two different worlds for sure.
The next year will find me moving ashore and getting serious about design work and plans sales. When established shoreside in BC I will start building my last personal sailboat which will be a 30’ Junk rigged cat Yawl for ocean single handing work.

Thanks for the update and the beautiful pictures Chris. US $ 60 billion of your powerboat designs built to date, is there a typo involved, or did I missed something that huge, I'm just wondering . . ?
