I love the boat. It is totally cool. Start dressing in white pants and blue blazers and use words like "gunwhale" and "the sun is approaching its Azimuth". I'll assure you people will start calling you Captain. An ascot and smoking a pipe seems to help too.

Also a bicorn hat helps, although personally I'd prefer the tricorn!

It's a river boat. I prefer to dress in Flecktarn actually. And shouting things like "bathe her and bring her to me" seems to befit our special brand of ilk. This vessel was built for the sole purpose of amusing me, and it has not failed to do so. I have spent my life designing machines and devices to solve other people's problems. At age 65 it's my turn. We cruise these rivers, eat, drink, enjoy sex, tell lies, build fires on deck, explore, and generally misbehave in the grandest fashion possible, sometimes with a live band on deck. This vessel affords visual images that cannot be seen in any other way. Last week we watched a Bald Eagle grapple a fish much too large with which to fly. After an epic struggle, he swam to shore with it and dined on the freshest fish obtainable. More frequently than not, I find myself reminding the little voices in my head that this is why we build "The Sebastian Marie"

Mr. Gonzo, your advice is noted and logged. (see, I'm getting it) But that is for the fellows in those nice big, spotless white boats. Your humor is not lost on me, I assure you. One can march through the brief journey on this planet or choose to dance instead. I choose the latter......

If one must dance on a vessel, a jib is the only acceptable and time honored dance. Further, in a pinch you can forgo the "bathe her" and make do with "bring her to me".

    R Fleet,

First, I love the name, and I love the boat.

The word Captain can mean different things at different times.
There is always a Captain on any boat.
However, the Captain of a vessel is not necessarily licensed.
A licensed Captain will have certification; paper-work, usually from a government agency, stating they have met certain requirements.

Save water, bathe together, works also in the river, only the theory is beyond me.

As I am a Coast Guard Officer (but never a Captain), I believe you are the Captain of that vessel. If boarded by law enforcement you would be considered the person in charge of the vessel, thus the Captain. But if you are carrying passengers who pay for the privilege, you are not a licensed Captain, and in a lot of trouble because as Captain you are also responsible for everything that goes on on your vessel, good or bad. Sounds like you are having a lot of fun with it. Be safe. Cool looking boat.
