There are things that come with their own holsters, such as cordless drills, and various knives, hatchets, machete, water-bottles, etc that come with sheaths with belt loops, and most work well once you feed your belt through the loop.
    Problems are:
    1) with modern plastic belt buckle connectors that means taking off one side of buckle since plastic buckle too big feed through most belt loops.
2)loop is captured between two loops (sometimes thats good)
3)its generally a PIA to be feeding your belt through various sheath/holster loops all the time.
4)using an additional belt sorta works, but just not the same as using a belt that is also looped through pants loops, and police style duty belt with "keepers" is even more PIA to take on and off.

I want something light and cheap that works with typical belt loops on sheaths and holsters, and quickly and easily clips onto typical 1.5" belt, similar to Paddle Holster, but just over the belt. Paddle holster - Wikipedia https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paddle_holster
OK, I'll admit it. I just one of these "machete cutlass" but I don't want anyone finding out about my pirate fantasy. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01AALX48I/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
