Maxsurf

    Hello to everyone!

    I am currently studying Naval Architecture, last year and I am working for my thesis. The project is called " Preliminary design of a multi hull passenger ferry". Currently, I am facing some problems using Maxsurf for resistance prediction. The slender body mesh is not mirrored, even tho the vessel is set as Catamaran. Also, can anyone tell me if Maxsurf takes in account the interference between the hulls?

    Probably it is some deficiency in the definition of hulls. Could we see the Maxsurf files that you created?

    I have managed to fix it somehow, my concern now is the CB, CF and CG. Are they supposed to be there? Is it because of the virtual appendix?Should I get rid of it? (And if yes, then how?)

    It has improved a lot but I believe something is still not right.
    The simpler the model, the better MaxSurf will work. The transom and the deck are not necessary. You should create a single surface, as the figure indicates. Create the surface symmetrical to the previous one ("Flip surface" command), with respect to the longitudinal plane of the hull. Now indicate that both surfaces are symmetrical.

    Thank you very much, did that. Apparently, removing the transom won't remove the virtual appendix, or change a thing. I guess I will just leave it like this. I have managed to correct the CB,CF and CG and everything seems to be alright. Also, I see they do take in account the interference between the hulls. Thank you veeeeerry much for your help. You're the best.
