I guess this question has been asked 100 times but I cant find a clear answer:

1: Self Build Yacht 26 Meters in Wood.
2: Registration with any International Flag, Malta, Seychelles, USA ?
3: Is it insurable at all?
    4: Without Classification Society?
5: No chartering, no sale needed. Just private recreational usage..

    Is this possible?

    Thanks for your answers.

Noting that you're in Berlin, and remembering that home-built boats are exempt from the Recreational Craft Directive, then yes I suspect it is possible.

Is it insurable? Depends what you want to insure against. Third party risks, maybe; hull damage etc, I should think unlikely!

Would I buy it from you? Not on your life!

I would suggest that at least it needs to respect the RCD standards, ISO 12215 etc

Being larger than 24 m in length, ISO 12215 is not applicable so, probably, you will have no choice but to comply with a Classification Society or similar, not only to obtain an insurance policy but to obtain the navigability certificates issued by the competent authority.
