    Hi all

I have been offered a 40'hull, deck and insert unbonded for a give away price. However I know myself and if it takes me 5 years to get her out sailing I will give up long before that (I know it's a character flaw).

My question is what would I need to complete to get her into the bay sailing? What can practically be left to do over time?

I would appreciate any wisdom shared.

You need all the structural stuff, so bulkheads, bunktops and any shelving or other furniture that is part of the load bearing components.
Everything else is not “necessary “
Ice box and a shelf for the stove would be pretty important but not crucial to sailing

I thought that the weight would be an issue if I didn't add the not sailing stuff. Thanks for the reply

Pictures would tell the thousands of words that you aren't writing that would be necessary to give you even an educated guess at how much build time you'll need to finish the boat.

It all sounds very similar to the 52' Kaos cat that was, and still is, offered in Richards Bay . . . .

No, just my thought was it might be an 10 years old left over from the bankruptcy, so I looked for an 40' Fortuna Island Spirit.
