    The hull will work great.
    What pontoons will you use?
Do you have a completion target-date for this build?

Below a design with two build options that can be welded, and the designer has skipped on one hull already . . .

I would widen the center hull from a Tiki 46 design above the waterline, otherwise it'll be a very cramped trimaran, so nothing but the bottom would be left from the original design, and it would need boards too as there isn't a Tiki 46 leeward hull anymore to provide some leeway resistance, so then what is left of the use of all that resistance increasing extra wetted surface and draft of a dory center hull on a trimaran . . ?

I think the Tiki plans at 20 bucks are a diversion. There are hundreds of steel hull plans out there, forget the Wharram and go for a straight forward Roberts design. Even better, get a cheap one second hand and sail tomorrow. Roberts is the Wharram of steel: BOAT PLANS, BRUCE ROBERTS BOAT PLANS,  BOAT KITS, FOUNDED 1966, OFFICIAL WEB SITE 400 boat plans SAILBOAT plans POWER BOATS; powerboats; steel BOAT PLANS; aluminum boat plans; fiberglass boat plans; wood epoxy boat plans, plywood boatbuilding plans, http://www.bruceroberts.com/

Do you know how to sail?
Can you do the design work to make the aluminum beams work?

Just because you change from wood to aluminum doesn't mean it can't work.
You just have to do the engineering.

Personally I wouldn't want a steel monohull anything.
There still are good known trimarans that you probably can buy used for less than building and designing your own tri.

You want to build a 46' boat in Montana?

I'm sure you could adapt it too HMIII.
Do you have some designs you'd care to share?
Do you have a target completion date or are these just dreams for now?
    Oh, and where is 64068?
Your present approach here is going to limit the assistance received considerably.
    Good luck!

I remember reading a comment by James Wharram a long time ago regarding trimarans. He had been for a voyage on one to his built to his design group's plans and said it's motion made him feel uneasy.I have a recollection that they did some further analysis of the design and found it lacking in one respect. He subsequently focused on catamarans.I'm a bit vague because it was a long time ago-early eighties maybe.I will have the original article somewhere and would rather not have to dig through forty plus years of old boating magazines to find it.

I remember to have read the same kind of saying by James, dating from somewhere in the 50's or 60's I believe, but in the western world both cats and tris were very much in development in those days, it could have been a tri which wasn't very representative for the whole kind, just as one shouldn't judge all cats on just one example of the species, I think . . :)

‘‘ This fantastic little film captures the beginning of James Wharram's life as a catamaran designer and marine archaeologist. From Falmouth the little catamaran TANGAROA (23'6" long) sailed successfully across the Bay of Biscay and in 1956 cross the Atlantic to Trinidad, the first British catamaran to do so. In Trinidad James, Ruth and Jutta built a new 40ft catamaran RONGO, which they sailed to New York and from there across to Ireland. This was the first crossing of the North Atlantic from West to East by catamaran (1959). James Wharram wrote a book about his pioneering voyages 'Two Girls Two Catamarans'. ’’
