Here is your chance to win wooden chess set I bought last week. Its solid wood , traditional green inside with holes for each figure. Its not cheap.

I enclosed the 6.5 meters long Norsafe Life Boat Pdf drawings files. I only need the bottom line drawings. I want to build the 3 meters long version.

Attach dxf or dwg for Autocad 2016-2017 to this forum post and I will send your chess set to your address.

Happy matches and Have a Great next year to all .

Mustafa you will need to furnish a lot more information about what you want the smaller boat to do. How many people, how much gear and supplies like water, food, nav gear and all that kind of thing.............Is this to be a life boat, will it need a canopy like the cabin on the bigger boat????

Must the configuration of the smaller boat be proportionate to the larger one. If so it will not work. Not even close. The proportion is 3.0/6.5 =46%.....No way that 46 percent of 5900 kg....or 2720 kg can be supported by a tiny little 3 meter boat.

Be more specific. What is the purpose of the little boat?

I do not need a nice chess set, I already have one that I like very much, but thank you for the offer of your generous reward.

The lines can't be derived from those drawings, I think you would be better starting off with an original 3 metre design for which the plans are available.

Messabout , I like the massive designs and 3 meters long boat will be my summer winter home - houseboat at Aegean Coast. I am extremelly determined to make it and it will be 150 cms high , 100 cms wide and 300 cms long.

Lets cut the corner. I attached an 27 people - same 6.5 meters long lifeboat design - and I want hull to be converted in to dwg line drawings. I need it because I will order laser cut plywood sections and than cover with 2500 grams glass roving and 3000 grams of polyester per square meters. I have 100 different boat plans but this is the best. I have autocad 2017 and finished 2d and 3d courses and I can draw upper structure.

I think this would not be difficult - rhino to dwg -

My rhino expired and I cant install it again.

    Happy New Year ,

    Umut

That's a compound curved hull and can't be made with sheet plywood, or easily with any material.

@mustafaumu sarac I think I have understood that all you need is to translate the Rhino model to AutoCAD. Subsequently, your experience with this program will allow you to make the transformations you want. Accordingly, I have prepared these two versions of your boat, model with splines and model with surfaces, bot AutoCAD files. I hope some of them will be useful.

Rather difficult hull for the program.

I am surprised you did not want hard chine.

    Regards.

It is worse than that....as you've done your maths incorrectly.

The scale is correct 0.46....but when scaling a hull from one size to another, it is the cube of the scale.
    Thus 0.46^3 = 0.097 x 5900 = 574 kg!!
Not a lot, if everything else remains the same...and of course the all important VCG scales the same ratio of 0.46 for this design to work as the original too.

    BTW..happy new year ya'll... :D

Mustafaumu: Please forgive me for what I am about to write.

Understand that you are almost surely on a fools mission if you insist on a boat such as the one you have in mind. . It is clear that you do not have much, if any, experience at sea.

The dimensions that you have specified will get you drowned, quickly if not sooner. A boat of the size that you describe might be satisfactory for a calm lake. It is not even close to being adequate for use in The Aegean sea. One meter wide, three meters long, and one and a half meters tall is going to require a lot of ballast in order to ...maybe...keep it upright if used in a seaway. The needed amount of ballast will require that the boat can not be designed according to your dimensions.

Even if we could make the boat as you wish, it is going to be painfully slow. That means that you can not hope to run from a storm. It means that your top speed will not be more than about 6km per hour even in the best of conditions. That means that if you decide to sail to Crete or Lesbos, or Cyprus it is going to be a very long trip when you will probably run out of water, food, and sanity before you get to the destination.

Please consider a boat of more practical dimensions for what you want to do. I/we would like you to survive as a forum member, not be lost at sea with an obscenely inadequate boat.

Once again I apologize for being so brutally direct with my response.

Ad Hoc; I am very much aware of the cubic function. I fear that the OP is not as informed about the numbers. I have not tried to reason with him in terms of geometric realities.

I really don't follow what the plan is here, construction wise.

    Mustafauma,
What are you trying to do now?
Tell me, are there still West Marine outlets/stores in Turkey?
At one time there were five. Now?
    Cheers!

Mustafa is trying to build an escape vessel friends.

He can't iterate it for fear of reprisal or to lose the respect of forum members. He has very little operational financing. He wants to build a cheap boat that can move fast enough to evade capture and is safe enough to make some near shore crossing to greener pastures.

Before, the mo was a small boat he might self finance and now it is a collective project it seems.

If I am wrong Mustafa, let us know.

Lifeboats are not fast, but perhaps a good cover.

I think he ought to start a go fund me.

You are perhaps very perceptive, fallguy, or maybe reading a whole lot into Mustafa's motivations, that might not be there ! :)

Mustafa has been asking about building inexpensive, single use boats for awhile.

I respect his efforts; despite his lack of affection for water displacement vehicles.

My family left Poland in hopes of eating more beef, less beet in the 1920s. They came to the US on some wooden ships.

I have nothing against the man's efforts. I do hope he can do so safely. I asked him if he likes to eat fish and he did not respond. I don't believe his desire is based on any affection for the sea.

    The gofundme is half serious.
