Hello, sorry for the delayed response, reply went to my spam.
I'm reviewing a few different designs & costing them out. Transitioning from a cruising keel yacht to a coastal sailor.
Trying to get in contact with builders/sailors of Kurt's de-mountable trimaran series.
To find out if for example the sliding beam system works in practicality, performance given the high freeboard of this design, etc.
The few built, that I've come across on the web have all been modified (extended to 34', raised beams, daggerboards in amars etc).
Would like to make a number of significant changes also. Any idea of what sort of support can you expect from the designer? or is all support charged at an hourly rate.
What are the dates of your plan set? Does the designer send out updates? Can plans be on-sold with support?
I haven't bought study plans for this design yet. Do you have them to sell? & if so what is the cost inc postage to Australia (postcode 5108).
    Thanks
    Robert

Kurt sells D32 e-mail study plans ,they are very good , SP give a good idea ,best study plan I have ever got....

The sliding Amas with Mast Sections or tubes seems to be a good idea and is demountable.

Plans come with full size BH print outs , Rudder full size & Daggerboard sections full size sections.....very nice detailed plans with all updates added to the printed plans with dates on them .

You get a ply version and composite plans for foam etc ,good detail and you get photo CD's ,very happy with the plan detail, I had to decide which Ama size to go with , normal or large .

Kurt is OK with stretching ,say 3'/ 1m or mods....

I recommend you buy plans from Kurt especially for consulting , he is best to talk to on the phone I hear from TomD ,or e-mails ...TomD and his wife built the 23 foot Trimaran in ply.

No consulting whatsoever when buying used plans from any designer I believe...

We are building the D32 ,so plans not for sale any longer...

    Hello,
That’s good you have decided to build - the more the merrier. I thought you were building a woods eclipse? I spoke to the guy in Florida that has the mould but hull/deck kit was well out of my price range. The hard chine Tamar looks like a quicker build although maybe not as pleasing to the eye as the Eclipse.
Would you be planning on building the d32 in ply or foam? The guy in Finland built in foam but I think all the others, with a web presence at least, are ply.I’ve built smaller boats in foam but really have had enough of fairing/finishing.
Anyhow I’ve ordered the study plans.

We would build D32 with Eclipse Hull that has similar shape up to the Eclipse Knuckle , re-purpose the Hull Kurt called it. The side of Eclipse Hull can be re-purposed and used on D32 ,3/4" Core Cell/epoxy/glass both sides ,also on hull .
Didn't know the beautiful D32 by Talo was foam ,saw photo on Kurts blog ,wow!...any blogs by Talo on his D32 in Finland?I've looked but not seen anything...

Kurt mentioned one D32 motored down the ICW doing 10 knots , I like the way the Amas come in ,then the beam total can be 12 feet and you can still motor this way with mast up etc...,

Seems to be a natural build in ply ,will go with the 4mm ply Amas Gudgeon Stress Form option using the West sys technique ,forget name ,...rather than 2 x 3mm ply ...

Good price and taxes can be taken off that price if you leave Finland within a certain time ,can not build for that ,true in foam .... can build in ply quick if you have a build garage ,maybe also in foam ,we can since we already have foam hull and sides and 20 gal epoxy left over as well as roll of uni 400g glass etc etc.
Thanks for link! If I had a spare $70,000 Cdn+ I'd make an offer with taxes taken away ,Talo's D32/34 is a beauty!
