Making a sail

I built an 8ft plywood sailing dinghy. Now it is time to make a sail. I am looking for plans for a small sail and a lot of them assume that you have done this before. Can anyone recommend plans to make a sail?

 

Joe. making a sail is something that you can do with a little bit of skill with a sewing machine.

For an eight foot dinghy your sail will be small, something like 36 +/- square feet of area. A useful alternative is to explore Ebay and other sources for a used sail from an Optimist pram, El Toro, or similar little dink.
