Oxygen deprived down there. Who knows what they'll eventually find? Maybe someday they'll find the top of some structure from before the Black Sea flooded peeking up out of the accumulated muck.

 

Some estimate that the Black Sea Deluge occurred around 5600 BCE. Probably not a lot of human-built structures from that long ago.

It would still be thousands of years newer than Göbekli Tepe.

And also younger than the cities found underwater off the west coast of India that would have been submerged in the wake of the last ice age.

The conventional view of human history is so full of holes that the Swiss could sell it as cheese.

 

There are people who've been discussing using the Quattro Depression for a massive hydroelectric project, slowly flooding it to be an inland sea in the process.

 

Göbekli Tepe is a very interesting place. Makes me want to erect a pillar in my back yard I didn't realize how complex these very old civilizations were. Thanks for bringing it to my attention.

I believe it has been noted, IIRC, that the oddly distorted crane is a good match for the constellation Cygnus and the Milky Way in form.

This come from the same sort of folks who note that at the time the Great Sphinx was supposed to have been built the Egyptians were all about bulls because of where they were in procession and that the time that a great cat or a jackel (as some now say it may have originally been) was in the alignment the Sphinx appears meant for was long before then.

A gas station on the Bankhead Highway in Colorado City, Texas up in the pan handle. It is undated. The Bankhead Highway was a precursor to both the National Highway System and Route 66.
