    Excerpt:
Two MOD70s have entered the RORC Transatlantic Race for a thrilling high-speed multihull match race from Lanzarote* to Grenada.

Giovanni Soldini's much modified Maserati (now called a Multi 70) and Peter Cunningham's PowerPlay (formerly Concise 10) have both confirmed that they will be on the starting line for the 5th edition of the RORC Transatlantic Race, starting from Marina Lanzarote on November 24, 2018.

This 3,000 mile match will take the boats to Camper & Nicholsons Port Louis Marina in Grenada and both teams are very capable of breaking the multihull race record, set by Lloyd Thornburg's Phaedo3 in 2015 (5 days 22 hrs 46 mins 03 secs).

    * Lanzarote is a Spanish island, the northernmost and easternmost of the autonomous Canary Islands in the Atlantic Ocean. It is located approximately 125 kilometres (78 miles) off the coast of Africa and 1,000 kilometres (621 miles) from the Iberian Peninsula.

Maserati in 2nd just after the start-speed 6.6 knots, PowerPlay speed 6.8 knots.
Wind looks like a port tack reach the whole way-that means(theoretically) no foiling for Maserati.....
    ------------------------
--9:48 am Eastern Maserati faster at 11.4 vs PowerPlays 7.6 knots. Maserati is .2 of a mile behind Power Play.
    --2:13 pm Eastern:
1-Maserati 1.8 miles ahead of PowerPlay and doing 19.7 knots,
    2-PowerPlay doing 18.9 knots.
    --6:39 Eastern:
1-PowerPlay two miles ahead of Maserati and doing 18.4 knots,
    2-Maserati doing 16.7.....

    Monday 8:41 am:
1- PowerPlay leading by 10.3 m and doing 17.2 knots,
    2- Maserati doing 20.3 knots.
    -----------------
    Monday 12:04 pm:
1- Maserati leading by 2.5 miles and doing 24.2 knots,
    2- PowerPlay doing 18.2 knots.
    -----------------
    Monday 4:13 pm:
1- Maserati leading by 3.1m and doing 21.8 knots,
    2- PowerPlay doing 22.6 knots.
    -----------------
    Monday 7:35 pm:
1- PowerPlay leading by 8.1 miles and doing 23.4 knots,
    2- Maserati doing 23.5 knots.
NOTE-this seems real peculiar to me-3 hours and 20 minutes ago Maserati was ahead by 3.1 miles-now the tracker says she is behind by 8.1 miles!! I don't think so.........
Maserati will(may) be able to foil when she gybes to stb tack to head for the finish.

    Tuesday 7:47 am :
    1) PowerPlay leads by .5 m and is doing 19.8 knots,
    2) Maserati is doing 20 knots.
    ---------------
    Tuesday 11:36 am :
1- Power Play leading by 4.1 m and doing 24.2 knots,
    2- Maserati doing 25.3 knots.
    ---------------
    Tuesday 4:02 pm :
1- Maserati leads by 7 miles and is doing 21.3 knots on stb. She can foil on stb. only and should be able to hold it into Granada but this will likely continue to be a close race,
2- PowerPlay is doing 20.9 knots.
    ---------------
    Tuesday 7:33 pm :
    1- PowerPlay leading by 19 miles*and doing 24 knots,
    2- Maserati doing 21.7 knots.

*This is a another of the bizarre tracker reports. It means that in 3.5 hours PowerPlay has gained 26 miles on Maserati. Impossible as best I can tell unless something is drastically wrong with Maserati-even then the gain seems unrealistic given Maserati's current speed. May be influenced by the different direction of the two boats but ,again, thats a big gain if Maserati maintained her speed.

    Thurs 7:35 am:
1- PowerPlay leads by 13.1m and is doing 21.8 knots,
2- Maserati is doing 25.9 knots.
    --------------------
    Thurs 11:29 am:

    --------------------
    Thurs 3:50 pm:
1- Maserati leads by 7 m and is doing 23.1 knots. She is on stb. so if the wind is enough she should be able to foil though the tracker speeds this time don't show it,
2- PowerPlay is doing 24.7 knots.

According to the tracker Maserati has made up 44 miles in a little over 4 hours?!
    -------------------
    Thurs 7:18 pm:
1- Maserati leads by 19.4 miles and is doing 24.4 knots,
2- PowerPlay is doing 22 knots.

If Maserati maintains her present speed and relative position she should finish about 2 am Sat.
