I possess a 18' ,Plate still on says " OY66398 serial#, max ,1500 cap" Cathedral hull Thunderbird "______ " Outboard boat . I cannot find the model name to start my quest of trying to bring her back to the pride she once possessed . Can not find a duplication of her , some a little close (Comanche,Cheyenne,Sioux ) but not the same . Looking for images to revive lights, Bimini ,Railing ,etc.. Remember the original TV show "Flipper " September 19, 1964, until April 15, 1967 ? Close ! *****ANY assistance would be greatly received with gratitude ! *****

That one might have been the work of Dick Cole, who later designed a type of cathedral hull called the "Airslot", your boat isn't that one. I think Dick Cole's son has posted on this forum.

I believe i have a 1966 Thunderbird Cheyenne Deluxe outboard. I have found some pictures of the 1967 and 1969 . I would love to find photographs of the 66 to match up the cockpit cover , stern rails (seen different years ,not 66 ) .

Not Thunderbird per se, but I've owned Woodson 18s since the mid 80s..a 1964 and a 1968. I've always liked the way that particular cathedral hull (same as the one in original thread post) performed in rough seas.

I'm a big fan of the Thunderbirds. True workhorses. Your boat is in great condition by the way. @Mr Efficiency - Dick Cole lol

Our family had this hull during the late 70s. Former Fl Marine Patrol craft.
Powered by the famous Iron Duke, Merc 120HP stern Drive.
What an asp slapper. Solid, bomb proof, stable, cheap on fuel but you needed cushions under your duff when coming off a wave.
Also in a lil wind chop of a few inches, your teeth could chatter.
What a fun boat, I miss her despite the pains. Raised lots of Kings off of Jax.
