Yup, I was more interested in the vintage goods wagons but that is neat information about the crane.

    Nice shot.
Used to spot the old goods wagons - all named after fish. I think they are all gone now.

An exhausting amount of work, gotta be driven like a madman to finish something like that up.

I wonder if the sailing cat in the middle was his too.

Love the name of the boat, "Catch 22", close to my heart.

    Agree, great lines.

The power cat Catch 22 was designed and built by Groper, here's a build thread: ¹ Efficient 10m displacement powercat

    thread ¹ post #265 Catch 22 pic

The sailing cat CNO in the middle of the vid is an Bob Oram 39C, she's also in the middle of the above thread¹, post #221 till #259.

Groper bought CNO from Masalai, who built her for himself with LAR keels and (diesel) saildrives as a power cat, and gave her a Lagoon style house, here's a build thread: ² My little piece of peace (thread was moved to the ‘Marketplace’ section when the boat came for sale)

thread ² post #1813 CNO pic
    [IMG]

Groper did many works on CNO after he bought her, and also converted her into the sailing cat she was designed to be, this all as an in between during his Catch 22 build.

thread ¹ post #258 CNO pic & post #259 vid

Meanwhile Groper also maintained a family live and a full time job, thread ¹ post #16

    ‘‘ . . . i got a pregnant wife, 4yo boy and a full time job to contend with also . . . ’’

Below shows the newly born I think, thread ¹ post #140 Catch 22 pic

View* of Baasrode*, which is a part of the municipality Dendermonde in Belgium...

2009 Baasrode St Ursmarus church and ferry seen from the river Scheldt.jpg

Here's a 1556 pen drawing of the same spot, called Basrode then, by Pieter Bruegel the Elder.

Many Scheldt - Botters* and other ships were built there over the centuries, till competition by others scaling up elsewhere meant that the last of the 9 yards in Baasrode had to close on 31 December 1986, only a maritime museum* is left of that era, and some boats, plus a few old tidal dry docks...

Below a 16 m (52½') new build* by the museum*, not much working on it since a long time by now I think, the 4 March 2017 pic in large.

To keep it random, here's a 1565 possibly self-portrait of, and surely and by Pieter Bruegel the Elder, ‘‘The Painter and the Buyer’’.

I'm wondering if the buyer yet grabs his purse out of his pocket there, and what the painter carries on his belt, the latter could be a crucifix I think . . .

Pieter Bruegel the Elder The Painter and the Buyer what does he grab out of his pocket detail.jpg

On second thoughts I think the buyer holds a rosary there, and moves his fingers along the beads while reciting prayers, maybe only silently just for himself...

Many rosaries were found in the 1980's on board the Mary Rose, the below one is believed to have belonged to one of the lower ranking crew members, the ship was laid down in 1510, launched in 1511, sank in 1545 in the Battle of the Solent, and was raised in 1982.
