Hi, I am just learning to use the free version of delftship, and i need to measure distances on an existing drawing.
i have tried all sorts of searches but to no avail.
My friend Jurgen( who is light years smarter than me !!) told me to hover the cursor over one point, then move to the other point, and in the top right of the screen, I will get the X,Y, Z coordinates.
but how does that relate to measurements in feet or meters.
what are the units for those co-ordinates- and is it just simple math to obtain the answer?

is there not a measuring tool?

    thanks

    Hi,

Coordinates are in metric or imperial units based on your "project settings", top left on the "home page".

You can also see (acuumulated, press <esc> to clear) edge length by clicking on an edge. You will see "Edge length:" on the bottom edge of the window.

Somewhat cumbersome, but if you have (or add) two contol points you can add temporary edge (insert edge tool) between them & get the edge length.

I have used delftship free for a while, never found a distance tool, doubt there is one.

    PS My first post here....
